About the Event
Students will continue to deepen their coordination (advancing pieces safely and soundly), begin learning some basic tactics, introduced to openings objectives, and begin learning how to evaluate a position to guide their decision making. Chess notation will be introduced/reviewed. Students will learn to communicate moves and ideas using the language of chess
This class is 100% Outdoors (rain/shine). Masks appreciated if you're coughing or sneezing.
The tent has netting that reduces wind, and keeps rain out. We have lighting under the tent for when the sun sets earlier. Space heaters will be used to give us a little warm when the temps get chilly. The tent will be up until snow is expected.

Winter Mini 2025: Jan 5 - Feb 9 (6 classes) - time change to 4-5pm due to school dismissal time conflicts.
