For the absolute beginner. You don't need to know anything but the alphabet A-H, and numbers 1-8. This class will introduce the game of chess.

About the Event
Students will be introduced to the game of chess, a few pieces at a time, including an overview of the chessboard.
Movement, Captures, and rules for each piece will be taught. Simple games that are easy enough for ANYONE to learn and play will complement each lesson. All simplified games will be teaching context and strategy in its simplest form.
At the end of this course, students will have all the basic movement, captures, rules, board orientation, and understanding of check, checkmate, stalemate, and draw.
This class is 100% Outdoors (rain/shine). Masks appreciated if you're coughing or sneezing.
The tent has netting that reduces wind, and keeps rain out. We have lighting under the tent for when the sun sets earlier. Space heaters will be used to give us a little warm when the temps get chilly. The tent will remain up until snow is expected.
