About the Event
Library Chess Time on May 18th!
Via Zoom and Chess.com. Come join us for our first Virtual Library Chess Time.
See, Talk, Play LIVE Chess online with friends. We have many virtual rooms for small groups to chitchat and play together. After your game finishes, come out to the main room to be placed into a new room with your opponent.
Live Chess is in real time. This event will be classified as a tournament on the website. That’s just how we will keep our LIVE play inside our club. But you can all enjoy the virtual 🥇🥈🥉
It will be Arena style: Every time you finish playing a game, the computer will pair you with another available player. You can join us late, take a break, come back... But every game is against our free online club extension.
There will be a few registration forms to fill. But this first form will begin the process. It will take you to the website after submission. So don’t stress! Click, click, click, and you’re in!🎉
1. Register to join the online club.
2. Verify your email (follow up from step one).
3. You will get an email with your unique Zoom ID to join us. And there are rules for being on Zoom to keep this a safe and social environment.
I will send & give instructions during the event regarding how to move to/from the virtual rooms to play in small groups. I will also go over how to join the LIVE chess arena.
Due to the limitation of online meetings, I can only take on 4 at the Newbies Table! Please RSVP in the comments. Newbies will also need an account on Chess.com. It’s all free. Parents can help little ones with the computer interaction if needed. Parents can be in the same virtual room to hear. I will screen share as needed. Newbies can be completely new to chess, same deal as my Library Newbies Table, less the colorful learning peripherals normally used. 😉
